The selection of steel type1. Main structural steel (frame load-bearing)
Q355B/C/D
Features: Yield strength 355MPa, excellent comprehensive mechanical properties, low temperature resistance gradually improved (B grade 0 °C resistance, D class - 20 °C resistance), suitable for large-span, heavy load warehouses (such as industrial plants, logistics warehouses).
Scenario: Key stressed components such as the main steel frame (H-beam, I-beam), inter-column supports, etc.
Q235B
Features: Yield strength 235MPa, low cost, good plasticity, but low strength, suitable for light load, small span warehouses (such as small storage rooms, temporary warehouses).
Scenario: Minor components (such as envelope supports) or scenes that do not require much strength.
Weathering steel (e.g. Q355NH)
Features: Built-in anti-corrosion oxide layer, reducing the cost of anti-corrosion coating, suitable for warehouses with high humidity, coastal or industrial polluted environments.
Scenario: Open-air warehouse, steel structure exposed to harsh weather for a long time.
2. Sub-structural steel (purlins, supports)
C-type purlin / Q235B
Features: C-shaped cross-section, easy to process, low cost, suitable for roof and wall purlins, small span (generally ≤ 6 meters).
Z-purlin / Q355B
Features: Z-shaped cross-section, better bending resistance, increased stiffness by stacking, suitable for long-span roofs (e.g. ≥8 meters), saving steel consumption.
Round bars / steel pipes (support systems)
Features: Q235B round steel or seamless steel pipes are commonly used for wind-resistant columns, horizontal supports and other components, which are lightweight and easy to adjust the tension.
