Steel for steel structure is a kind of steel product specially adapted to steel structure engineering (such as factory buildings,, high-rise buildings, venues, etc.), with "high strength, easy processing, and assembly" as its core characteristics. Through precise control of chemical composition and rolling, it ensures that the material has excellent mechanical properties (tensile, compressive, and impact resistance) and welding performance, and is the core basic material to support the load-bearing and safe service of steel structures. 1. Main product types and core uses
Steel for steel structure is mainly "section steel", supplemented by some plates and tubes. Different types correspond to different functions. The common categories are as follows:
H-shaped steel: The cross section is "H"-shaped, with wide flanges and thin webs. The moment of of the section is large and the load-bearing efficiency is high. It is the "main load-bearing member" of the steel structure. It is often used for the column beam and main beam of the factory building, the frame column of the high-rise building, and can directly bear the vertical load and horizontal force (such as wind force, earthquake).

I-beam / channel steel: The cross section of I-beam is similar to "I" shape, with narrow and thick flanges, and the tors performance is weak. It is often used for secondary beams and supports of small factory buildings; the cross section of channel steel is "U"-shaped, and the groove opening can used to fix connection fittings. It is often used as the purlin of steel structure (supporting the color steel plate of the roof/wall), the handrail or auxiliary support of the staircase.

Angle steel: The cross section is a right-angled triangle (equilateral angle steel / unequal angle steel), which is flexible to and easy to connect. It is mainly used as the "auxiliary connection piece" of the steel structure, such as the reinforcement of the beam-column node, the diagonal support the fixed support for the color steel plate, and it can also be used for small and light load structures (such as the frame of the simple rain shelter).

Thick: The thickness is mostly 6-100mm, which needs to have high strength and good weldability. It is mainly used as the "node member" of steel structure, such as the end plate connected by beams and columns, large supports, the connecting plate of the bridge, and some thick plates can be cut and spliced to form special load-bearing piece (such as a large equipment base).

High-frequency welding H-shaped steel / cold-formed thin-walled section steel: The former formed by high-frequency welding process, with high dimensional accuracy and low cost, suitable for small and medium-sized steel structures; the latter is processed by cold-formed process ( as C-shaped steel, Z-shaped steel), with thin wall thickness (1.5-5mm) and light self-weight, and is often used for lightweight buildings and steel structure residential purlins and partition studs.

Industrial field: Withstand heavy load and corrosion: For heavy load scenarios such as factory cranes and equipment bases Q460 high-strength thick steel plates can be used to make load-bearing nodes, and NM450 wear-resistant steel can be used to make equipment contact, to withstand high-frequency impact and wear; for the corrosion environment of chemical industry and coastal factory buildings, aluminum-zinc coated color steel plates, weathering steel (containing and phosphorus elements), or aluminum magnesium manganese peripheral panels are used to achieve 20-30 years of maintenance-free anticorrosion, solving problem that traditional brick walls are easily corroded by acid and alkali, and concrete panels are prone to alkali return.
